Monte Rosa: ascent to Capanna Margherita 4554 m

from
280.00

Dates: 1–2–3 September 2026

Monte Rosa is located on the Swiss-Italian border and no less than 19 peaks rise above 4000 metres and is considered the highest group in the Alps. Many believe its name is due to the magical pink colour it turns at sunrise and sunset, but in the ancient spoken language 'patois' rouese means glacier. Enchanted places and breathtaking scenery, where every activity, from off-piste skiing to mountaineering, takes place mainly on the glaciers and peaks. The Capanna Regina Margherita stands on the summit of the Punta Gnifetti in the Monte Rosa group. At 4554 metres, it is the highest alpine refuge in Europe and the perfect destination for lovers of classic high altitude mountaineering.

It is considered a perfect ascent for those beginning to approach the world of mountains over 4,000 metres. It is not a trivial excursion: you cross glaciers with crevassed areas and seracs that should not be underestimated.
