Alpia Apuane, Monte Cavallo, 'Lovable'.

"LOVABLE' - 2005

development 120 m. first ascent: Roberto Vigiani with Luisa Siliani, Andrea Mercatelli, Annamaria Cavallo, Guido and Guglielmo Gori who contributed not only to the company but also to the addition of the bolts, which had been rather stingy on my part at the opening! material needed: two 50 m ropes recommended difficulty: L1: 5c, L2: 5b, L3: 5c/6a

Attack about 100m to the right of "gli Smemorati" (name at the base), three pitches of super rock on slabs with a few overhangs to keep the muscles in check. Abseil down the route, chains at the belays and bolts galore for those who want to climb relaxed with only quickdraws.

Approach

The route is at an altitude of about 1600 metres (max. 6a) and in July and August it is in the sun until early afternoon (shade is recommended!).As a backup, I recommend that you go and spend the night before at the Orto di Donna refuge at Cava 27 where Stefania, as well as offering you good food and hospitality, will give you further information on the many new routes near the refuge.

If you instead want to go directly to the route, you can climb directly to the mouth of Cardeto and then traverse to the attack on the steep path (approx. 2 hours) that starts near the Val Serenaia refuge
