Apuan Alps, Pizzo d'Uccello, North Face, 'Wall of Shadows'.

WALL OF SHADOWS

In 1985 Roberto Vigiani and Federico Schlatter opened this route on Pizzo d'Uccello. The first repetition took place about two years later by Carlo Malerba e Cristiano Virgilio. Since then there have been sporadic attempts until around the 4th pitch (roof of A3)

Development 600 metres, difficulty ED+. The rock in the first 8 pitches is typical Apuan, in the second half it improves and becomes discreet.

At the opening we left 30 pitons and 30 bolts. For a repetition, not recommended..., bring a set of nuts, including No. 1 B.D., a set of especially useful 4.5 double B.D. friends, a stirrup and mixed pitons.
