The perfect course for those who want to learn the basics of sport climbing, an activity that is much more than a sport.
The right opportunity to learn the basic techniques of progression and belaying when climbing, become independent when climbing single pitch crags, meet new people and spend unforgettable moments in contact with nature.

Registration will only be effective after payment of a deposit of €50.00.

All about the Corso base di arrampicata sportiva.

The course will consist of four outings on rock that will take place on Sundays.
During the course, specific materials will be explained and the basic techniques of progression and belaying in sport climbing will be taught.
We will also focus on training, nutrition and some psychological aspects of climbing.
The course will be held exclusively by Alpine Guides, professionals qualified to teach and lead people in the mountains, on all Alpine terrains. The course is open to all and can be considered preparatory to subsequent courses organised by Prorock Outdoor (Advanced Sport Climbing Stages, Introduction to Long Routes Course, etc.).
Each mountain guide will accompany groups of about 4-5 participants.

It is advisable to wear comfortable clothing and bring a packed lunch, plenty of water and a waterproof jacket.

It is possible to hire personal equipment: helmet, harness and climbing shoes.
Cost of renting the complete kit (helmet, harness and climbing shoes): 25.00 euro total
Only part of the kit (helmet, harness, shoes): 10.00 euro per piece.
The cost covers the entire duration of the course.

The minimum number of participants to start the activity is 4 persons.

  1. First exit 27/9/2026
    Falesia di Monsummano: meet at Monsummano at 9 a.m., short approach to the crag on an easy path.
    Introduction to the materials and basics of belaying and rock progression from second rope.
    Return in the late afternoon.
  2. Second exit 04/10/2026
    Falesia di Avane, Vecchiano: meet in Avane at 9.00 a.m., short approach on easy path.
    In-depth study of rock progression techniques from second ropes.
    Return in the late afternoon.
  3. Third exit 11/10/2026

    Falesia di San Lorenzo a Vaccoli: in-depth study of progression techniques on rock from second ropes, according to the P.E.R. (Pro elastik rock) method, which uses simple tools (an elastic band, a lanyard with a counterweight, some coloured stickers to affix to the soles of climbing shoes) to improve one's climbing skills.
    Return in the late afternoon.

  4. Fourth exit 18/10/2026

    Foce di Compito crag (Monte Lieto, Southern Apuan Alps): an in-depth look at belaying techniques, with specific exercises focusing on footwork for climbing progression.
    Parking manoeuvre.
    If the level of the participants allows it, first attempts at climbing as lead climbers, with the assistance of mountain guides.
    Return in the late afternoon.
