Gionata conveys a great passion for the mountains: 'Ever since I was a child, I have always looked at the mountains above our house with my nose in the air in curiosity and fascination. As the years went by, this fascination became more and more ingrained in him, so much so that he decided to live with his family in Arni, a small remote village in the middle of the Apuan Alps, a little far from comfort, but immersed in nature and at the foot of the mountains he loves.
He has been a member of the SAST (Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico Toscano - Tuscan Alpine and Speleological Rescue) since 2004, also working on continuous duty at the Tuscany Region's Helicopter Rescue bases.
In November 2022 he completes the exams of the course to become an aspiring mountain guide, thus beginning to turn his passion into a profession. In June 2025 he successfully completes the course to become a fully-fledged mountain guide, an emotion and the realisation of a dream.
La Mountain Guide-Mountaineering Master is part of the <b>U.I.A.G.M/IFMGA (International Union of Mountain Guide Associations).
